Electrical Engineering

EEC (Eta Engineering Consultants) has been involved with all aspects of electrical engineering and design since 1994. Our services have focused primarily on clients in the energy, chemicals, metals electric utilities and heavy manufacturing areas. Our staff of highly qualified/licensed professional engineers and designers not only provide technically compliant designs, but also unparalleled technical support services.

The below-captioned items are not all-inclusive of EEC’s capabilities; rather they provide insight into EEC’s electrical engineering capabilities.

Electrical Distribution

electrical engineering services1 Electrical Engineering

EEC’s team of engineers and designers has the expertise and knowledge to analyze, optimize and design new or existing electrical distribution systems from 120V up through 115KV and ensure maximum stability and reliability. The team also has a strong knowledge of codes and standards (NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, NESC, etc). The codes and standards along with the client’s site specific design guidelines are evaluated through each step of the design cycle. Our experiences include, but are not limited to:

Raceway Design

electrical engineering services2 Electrical EngineeringEvery electrical system requires some type of raceway for routing power or control wiring. Raceways can range from underground conduit to cable tray. EEC has a long history in designing and specifying all types of raceways. Many people believe you simply install cable tray or conduit from point A to point B. While it is true, the desired outcome is to have a reliable and protective means to get cabling from point A to point B. There is much more that comes into play when designing a raceway. The designer must understand all the applicable codes and affects associated with the type of raceway being used.

Low Voltage Power, Data and Communications Design

EEC’s experience goes beyond power distribution. EEC provides support for ensuring facilities have adequate lighting, power outlets and security to meet our client’s needs.

Electric Heat and Steam Tracing Design

EEC’s design team has the experience to review process and instrumentation specifications to provide a complete installation design package. The design team can also design the power to support the electric heat tracing or steam and condensate manifolds to support steam tracing.

Security Design

The security of any facility is critical. EEC has experienced engineers to help evaluate your current security system and provide recommendations and designs to secure your facility.

Construction Support

EEC also has the experience and knowledge base to help make the construction phase go smoothly. EEC doesn’t deliver a paper design package and stop. Upon the client’s request EEC can facilitate:

  • Drawing reviews for permits, construction, and for record conditions
  • Construction planning
  • Start-up support
  • Bid process support
  • Review of submittals from contractors
  • On-site construction support
  • Technical support to contractors and vendors
  • Permitting
  • Any other aspect of project management during the construction phase
  • Record Drawings

Record Drawings

EEC has a dedicated team of CADD staff members that will take redlines and incorporate them to generate a “for record” package. This ensures the final “for record” package matches what was constructed. This is highly beneficial for future upgrades and trouble shooting. EEC is a multidiscipline engineering firm and we can provide this support across all disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Process, etc.

Electrical Area Classification

Properly classifying electrical areas in facilities where flammable and combustible materials are processed is essential for a safe and cost effective electrical installation. EEC is very experienced in performing electrical area classification studies, producing electrical area classification drawings and designing electrical installations to meet electrical area classification requirements.
