Secure site with the installation of:
- New fencing
- New Gates (only replacing required gates, eliminating others)
- New intercom system
- Remote security cameras and monitoring (including river dock)
- Improved perimeter, dock lighting and task lighting
EEC was approached by a major oil company to update security at a truck transport loading terminal abutting a major waterway. The arrangement of the terminal adjacent to the waterway caused the terminal to fall under the authority of Maritime Security (MARSEC). EEC worked with the client to meet the stringent guidelines of MARSEC.
The primary concerns included:
Fencing that did not meet requirements.
Gates that did not meet requirements.
Insufficient remote monitoring capabilities.
Insufficient perimeter and river dock lighting.
Trees and undergrowth around terminal perimeter and along river bank.
Inadequate intercom system for site access.
Once the terminal was secured with fencing and gate replacement/upgrades restricting access, upgraded lighting and cameras were required to be installed per MARSEC. EEC performed a lighting survey at the terminal and placed supplemental lighting within the terminal to meet required lighting levels. The perimeter and dock lighting was upgraded to maintain a continuous lighting level along the entire perimeter of the loading terminal and along the river bank dock area for added security. As an added feature, EEC designed upgraded task lighting into the design.
Several cameras were installed in strategic locations throughout the facility to ensure maximum coverage of the area. Both fixed and pan-tilt-zoom cameras were installed at the office, loading rack, river dock, ingress and egress points. The cameras were attached to head end equipment in the terminal operator’s office and secondary monitors were located in the terminal manager’s office.
