Project Profile: Galvanizing Line Production Increase

Key Features

  • A Written Plan For Modification
  • A Design Facilitating Construction
Client Benefits

  • A Production Enhanced Improvement With a Minimum of Downtime and Lost Revenue

Project Description

A Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) at a major steel manufacturer consisted of three major segments - Entry, Center and Delivery Sections. The major pieces of equipment in the Center Section included a Waste Gas Pre-heater, a four-section Reducing Furnace, Cooling Equipment and Chemical Treatment Tanks. The Client's investigation determined that an increase in line speed could be realized by an extension of a Waste Gas Pre-heater, but business was good and he could not afford a lot of lost production.

EEC was retained to analyze the proposed installation and prepare a constructability report for the client. This report identified the means and method by which the plans could be implemented with a minimum of lost production time.

Once the constructability report was approved, EEC performed the detailed installation engineering and design for the project.
