A client wished to add a large connected load to his plant power system. The existing power system was a complicated system, which had evolved over time by having numerous loads connected and disconnected. The client had selected a location on the power system where he wanted to connect the new load, but desired confirmation of its effect.
EEC proposed to model the power system with a powerful computer software program, but the client was unable to furnish sufficient data from his archives to permit the modeling. EEC, therefore, installed a recording device on the power system for a period of time and captured important missing data. EEC then built its model, identified several scenarios for adding the additional load and modeled each. The result was that the plan the client originally proposed was not feasible, but an alternate plan was identified and the project moved forward.
