Project Profile: Minimum Thickness Calculations

Key Features

  • OSHA Compliance
  • Computer Accuracy
  • Personnel Safety
  • Replacement Planning
Client Benefits

  • Immediate benefit is necessary documentation. The company is operating pressure vessels within safe operating parameters. This insures they are in compliance with OSHA regulations. Long term benefits include avoiding costly down time, equipment damage or possible injury of operating personnel.

Project Description

Operating pressure vessels are subjected to erosion and corrosion of metals, as well as metal fatigue. The loss of metal thickness is monitored by NDT methods. OSHA requires that pressure vessels have their minimum operating thicknesses calculated for the specific service in which they are used. EEC, using computer software called COMPRESS, has provided this service to clients for various pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other process equipment.
