A major coal mining and processing company approached EEC to upgrade an existing coal reclaim and loadout system. The project included power, control, automation, and instrumentation systems.
EEC coordinated the electrical construction and provided startup and commissioning services.
The project included MCC selection, Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC, FactoryTalk View HMI, CO and Methane detection instrumentation, mass flow gate positioning instrumentation, Ethernet via fiber optic communication to remote PLC racks, and wireless communication to remote display units
In addition, EEC conducted power coordination and arc flash analysis of the system. The changeover from the existing systems to the new systems was coordinated by EEC. The changeover was completed and operational ahead of schedule. The PLC system programming included Automatic restart to prior control settings on shutdown and up to ten preset batch control schemes for automatic control settings.
