EEC began in April 1994 with a thought, an idea, the recognition of a new and growing need, the awareness that the world is changing and that personal and corporate adjustments will be necessary in order to successfully adapt to the changes.

During the mid 80's to mid 90's, the corporate world in response to various internal and external pressures experienced radical changes as organizations restructured, were re-engineered, reorganized, downsized and went through various retirement and early retirement stages.

In many cases, heavy industry effectively eliminated entire engineering departments or rearranged and redirected them to the point that the former groups were only memories. Many industrial organizations either stated or displayed a desire to eliminate internal detailed engineering and design functions and focus on core business functions. As these internal engineering functions were pushed to outside service providers, the need for external engineering service providers began to grow and expand.

It was in this environment that EEC was born. The founder recognized the changes that were taking place, to some extent anticipated the future corporate and personal implications, and at the same time experienced a growing conviction that "it was God's will and purpose for me to leave the corporate world and start an engineering firm". On April the eleventh of 1994, the founder left what had been a very rewarding career with Ashland Oil, Inc. in order to start EEC. The firm was incorporated on May sixteenth of the same year as Electrical Engineering Consultants. The initial service offering was "Power, Controls and Instrumentation Systems Design and Analysis" for a primarily industrial market.

The next two years proved to be very challenging, dynamic and rewarding. By the end of 1996, the service offering had expanded to include all the primary engineering disciplines, the name had been changed to Eta Engineering Consultants to better reflect the nature of the firm, a new sixty-six hundred square foot office had been designed, built and occupied, and the staff size had grown to twenty-five.

A number of challenging opportunities and threats were encountered during the last half of the nineties. Additional management and administrative staff were required to successfully handle the requirements of a larger organization. Additional policies and procedures were established to ensure that technical and administrative functions were performed with utmost efficiency. While facing these challenges, EEC continued to maintain a focus on providing the highest possible quality services in a professional and courteous manner.

By the year 2000, EEC was recognized as #393 in the Inc. Magazine 500 listing of the 500 fastest growing privately held businesses in the United States.

As EEC moves forward into the 21st century, we continue to maintain a focus on quality, remain sensitive to the service needs and requirements of our clients, expand and enhance the skills of our staff, and grow and develop the infrastructure of the firm. We are striving to do these things, while at the same time realizing that "God has a plan and purpose for our lives both personally and corporately and the best possible thing that can happen is for His will to be done".
