Overview: EEC is actively searching for a Practice Area Leader for the Civil / Structural discipline. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Development of Practice Area firm-wide technical standards and quality control processes meshed with Overall Quality Process for Firm.
- Key Technical Director/ Review responsibility for all Practice Area Projects (either reviews or delegates to technically competent reviewer [All Stages of the Project]).
- Liability and risk mitigation review for Practice Area Projects.
- Capable of identifying process hazards, evaluating the risk of those hazards, and providing the development of effective solutions to reduce or mitigate the risks within area of focus.
- Mentors Key Technical Staff in Practice Area.
- Strong PJM for Major Projects involving civil / structural scope.
- Provides Technical Development Seminars on civil / structural topics for internal EEC University to support development of staff and for external individuals (clients and others).
- Maintains up to date understanding of all codes and standards for civil / structural disciplines for EEC industrial clients and disseminates current information to those who would benefit in the organization.
- Responsible for identifying civil and structural software needs for firm and other technology that enables efficiency and effectiveness in design as well as serves the client’s best interests.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum of BS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET accredited university.
- Must have at least 20 years of work experience in heavy industrial design for projects in chemical plants, oil refineries, gas processing, etc.
- Experience in engineering-bid-construction, design-build, and field construction support preferred.
- Experience in coordinating with electrical, chemical and mechanical disciplines for successful project deliverables.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management experience for consulting, design and/or installed systems.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- PE license preferred.
- Excellent client relations skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel.
